STEP 1:
- In case of intraoral procedure, isolate the area to be etched with a dam.
STEP 2:
- When preparing fractured porcelain crowns for bonding, abrade the surface of the porcelain with a medium grit bur to remove the glazed surface and to create enough space for a sufficient layer of composite resin. Sandblasting can also be performed. Rinse all debris from the surface with water and dry with moisture and oil free compressed air.
STEP 3:
- Apply CERAM-ETCH to the porcelain surface with a microbrush and leave for 60 seconds.
STEP 4:
- Rinse the porcelain thoroughly with water to completely neutralize the etching agent and dry well. The etched porcelain should have a frosted white appearance. If not, repeat the etching procedure.
NOTE: CERAM-ETCH must be used carefully. Avoid contact with oral soft tissues, eyes and skin. If accidental contact occurs, flush with copious amounts of water and seek medical attention.
