Shofu AZ Primer is a specialized priming agent developed to treat alumina-based and zirconia-based restoration surfaces, enhancing adhesion to resin materials. Suitable for both intraoral and extraoral use, it delivers a stable and dependable bond to all-ceramic zirconia and alumina restorations.

The innovative 6-MHPA monomer in AZ Primer is specifically engineered for high-performance ceramics. It permanently anchors to the ceramic bonding surface, offering superior and long-lasting bond strength compared to conventional or all-in-one bonding systems. When used with SHOFU Universal Opaque light-cured opaque pastes, it consistently achieves excellent clinical results.

Directions for Use

• Pretreatment – Extraoral use: Sandblast the zirconia- or alumina-based restoration surface with 50–100 μm aluminum oxide at approximately 0.2–0.3 MPa (2–3 bar). Perform ultrasonic cleaning and dry with clean air. Alternatively, roughen the surface with a suitable abrasive such as a diamond bur.
• Pretreatment – Intraoral use: Place a rubber dam and avoid contact with oral tissues. Roughen the adhesive surface using a dental abrasive, rinse with water, and dry with clean air.
• Application of AZ Primer: Dispense an adequate amount onto a dish and apply a single layer to the entire adhesive surface using a disposable brush. Leave undisturbed for 10 seconds and allow to dry naturally.
• Bonding: Bond the resin material according to the instructions for use of the selected product.
