Direction to Use

• Attaching a Scalpel Blade
  • Grip the blade with pliers or similar, avoiding contact with the cutting edge
  • Hold the handle with the bayonet fitting uppermost
  • Place the blade partway over the handle fitting and engage the slots
  • Slide the blade until it clicks into position
  • Flex the blade slightly upward while sliding to improve assembly
• Detaching a Scalpel Blade
  • Grip the blade with pliers or forceps, keeping the cutting edge away from the body
  • Ensure the blade is pointing downward and away from yourself and others
  • Lift the back edge of the blade and slide it off the handle
  • Use a blade remover device if available

Maintenance Instructions

• Clean after every use with warm water to remove blood and debris
• Ultrasonic cleaning is recommended for articulated instruments
